May 2010 - We now have a full schedule of groups happening check the rest of the website for more information. Pledge4Veg has been recommended to the board for funding which is fantastic news. Emily is back with us after 2 month of travelling some fantastic countries.

February 2010 - We are in the middle of putting in a bid for funding for Pledge4Veg and have lots of new suppurt groups in the planning process. Emily is leaving us for a few months to go travelling in South East Asia.

January 2010 - It's been a busy start to the new year, Katie is back from maternity leave, Emily has started volunteering with us and lots of work is going on in the background, the allotment is getting ready for a new season's growth and a new group of peer educators 's are getting ready to start.

November 2009 – Peer Educator training started for the new Feel good Families Project.  The family support group started with cooking and arts and craft session for families.

October 2009 – Katie gave birth to a little girl who is called Ava well done Katie.  Carol survived the desert and completed the 300km bike ride in the soaring heat well done Carol.  Tracey Joined the team as Outreach Worker for Charnwood

October 2009 – Katie’s on maternity leave and Carol is cycling the desert what a month!

September 2009 – Liesl is organising a family support group that meet every Wednesday between 3:30 – 6:00pm where families can get together have a bit of fun and meet new friends.

September 2009 – Busy time for us we are now working in Charnwood to co-ordinate a Parent Volunteer Programme in the Children Centres.

August 2009 – Yay! Liesl Gates joins us as Project Assistant, Liesl is well know to the Families In Focus Project I’m sure she is going to be a very valuable member to our team.  Liesl will be starting with us in September.

July 2009 – Summer Programme, during the summer we worked with a groups of young parents to develop story sacks.  All of those that attended were awarded a level 2 NOCN Unit so well done everyone.

June 2009 – We secure funding to develop a Parent Volunteer Programme in the Charnwood area so watch this space.

June 2009 – We have secured funding for a new project working with parents to become volunteers in children centres in the Charnwood area.  Watch this space for more information

April 2009 – We have secured funding for a new parenting project form the parenting fund.  The project will be called Feeling Good Families watch this space for more details.

March 2009 - Great News we have been given £3000 by South West Cluster Extended Services to support out allotment project.  Whoop Whoop we will be growing loads of stuff many thanks

February 2009 -Its cook and eat time.  During February and March we will be running cook and eat session in all of our schools yum yum.

January 2009 - We started a new Peer Education training programme.  Local residents were recruited to train to become family learning peer educators who will go out into the community and support local families to try family learning.

December 2008 - A great time for Families In Focus – we held several creative festive workshops where we made, peg fairies, cards, calendars, table decorations and lots more.

November 2008 – New Home Link Worker.  Katie will be joining the team mid November.  Katie’s role will be to recruit new peer educators to support families to try family learning in the home. We are all looking forward to having a new member of the team and look forward to working with Katie.

August 2008 - Did you see us on the news?

Central news visited our allotment site on 14th August to see what we had been up to.  They were very impressed with the work the families had been doing especially the potatoes we had grown.

August 2008 – Exciting news!

Thanks to our funders Braunstone Community Association (BCA) the families in focus project has been extended for another year, which is excellent news.  So keep your eyes - open we will be recruiting new peer educators very soon and we will be holding lots of family learning events in schools and around Braunstone.

June 2008 – Wow an Allotment!

We are early pleased to announce our allotment is up and running.  Check out the gallery for pictures of how good it’s looking.  All the families have been working really hard digging,weeding and clearing the site.  We still have room for a few more families to have their own little piece of land to grow fresh fruit and vegetables so get in touch if you are interested.
